Currently based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Emilie Branford is a Fine artist who works with printmaking, painting, poetry and illustration.

“The only way I can describe my work is sincere, silly and sweet (and a little bit somber at times too). I like to make work to cathartically express my own emotional experiences, and I think narrative is a very instrumental and important component within art. So, playing with these notions provides a satisfying relief for me, and (hopefully) a satisfying result for the viewer.

I recently did a project that surrounded toast and my turbulent relationship with it, and I just became a bit obsessed with toast. Because who doesn’t like toast? So, to ‘spread’ the love, I’ve created some delightful little toast cherubs to bring joy to whomever they greet. Because again, who doesn’t like toast?”
